Section 1

General Student Conduct

Code of Conduct

All students are expected to adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and personal conduct. This includes treating all members of the college community (students, faculty, staff, and visitors) with respect and dignity.

Prohibited Behavior

Harassment, bullying, discrimination, violence, and any form of disruptive or illegal behavior are strictly prohibited on campus and at college-sponsored events.

Drug and Alcohol Policy

The use, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs and unauthorized consumption of alcohol on campus is forbidden.

Academic Policies and Integrity

Plagiarism and Cheating

Students must submit original work. Any form of academic dishonesty, including plagiarism, cheating on exams, or unauthorized collaboration, will result in disciplinary action, which may include suspension or expulsion.

Attendance

Students are required to maintain a minimum attendance percentage as specified by the university and regulatory bodies (e.g., INC, TNNMC) to be eligible for examinations. Specific attendance requirements are detailed in the student handbook.

Grading and Examinations

The college's grading policies and examination procedures are final. Any disputes must be submitted through the official academic grievance procedure.

Fee Payment

Students are responsible for the timely payment of all tuition and fees as outlined in their admission letter and fee schedule. Failure to pay fees by the due date may result in penalties, a hold on academic records, or de-registration.

Refund Policy

Use of College Facilities and Resources

Campus Property

All students are responsible for the proper use and care of college property, including classrooms, laboratories, library resources, and equipment. Any damage to college property due to negligence or intentional acts may result in fines or disciplinary action.

IT and Network Usage

The college's computer systems, internet network, and other IT resources are for academic and administrative purposes only. Users must not engage in illegal activities, unauthorized access, or the distribution of inappropriate content.

Library

Students must follow the library rules and regulations, including due dates for books and proper decorum.

Intellectual Property

Student Work

The college may retain a copy of student projects, theses, and other academic work for institutional records and academic showcases. However, the student typically retains the intellectual property rights to their work, unless it was a collaborative project or funded by the college, in which case specific agreements will be made.

College Property

All copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property associated with the college's name, logo, website content, and course materials are owned by AJK College of Nursing.
